A Much Needed Update!

Hey everyone!

First of all, my apologies on such a long wait between updates, but I had a hell of a time trying to order a charger for my new camera and have the RIGHT one delivered (which took many attempts.. LONG story), but I am back and ready to fill you in as best I can on the past 3+ months.

Back in May, my family and I took a trip to Arkansas to visit my aunt Andrea, uncle Mark, and cousin Samantha.  This was Landon's very first time flying (spoiled much? lol)!  I can truthfully brag that my son is the best little traveler I've ever seen.  Not one tear, fuss, or even flinch when the planes were taking off/landing, or during our time in lay overs.  Although it was SCORCHING hot down south, we made it through by stocking the pack n' play and stroller with portable fans and misters.  All in all it was a great time, and a great first trip for the little guy :)

Following Memorial Day weekend, we have spent a lot of time in Wild Rose at Pineland Park with Tanner's family.  It is such a nice break from the daily grind at home, and always fun taking Landon to see everyone :)  We were up there for the 4th of July, with Landon getting his first glimpse at fireworks! At first he wasn't a fan, because we had him facing away from them, but as soon as we turned him around I don't think he even blinked!  He really enjoyed all the colors and noises, which put me at ease with having worried about how he would do.  He has also been swimming a handful of times - with only a few cries at first.  Now he loves floating around with the family :)  We've also taken Landon up north to Townsend to stay at my family's cabin for a few weekends.  Such a traveler!

So although it has been a busy summer for our little family, it has been a memorable one all the same.  Landon will be 6 months old this weekend - I can hardly believe it!  It feels like I was pregnant yesterday, and already my little man is sitting up, eating solid foods, babbles Dada, scooches, rolls everywhere, and has gotten his first tastes of real milk.  In the next week we will be getting him his new car seat, due to the fact that he's pretty much out grown his infant carrier.  He will also be getting fed step 2 solid food twice a day (as opposed to once) beginning this week.  We have not encountered any sickness, extended fussiness, lack of sleep, or anything other worry - Landon is plain and simple the perfect baby.  I guess we're the spoiled ones ;)

Now, as for what is new with us - Lola just turned one year two weeks ago!  She is Landon's best friend in the world, and they get along so well.  I am going to be starting school again come late-August, which is an exciting feeling.  Luckily I can go at night, so as to avoid daycare charges since Tanner will be home from work to watch the little guy.  Wedding plans are close to being over with, minus the minor details.  It's going to be a busy year!  All in all, we are a happy little Basler bunch over here :)

I will do my best to update more often than months at a time now that I have a functioning camera - until then, I hope all of you are great and enjoying your summer!

And now for the pictures :)
