Two Months Gone By.

So I've been slacking on this again, I know, but it is hectic being a new mommy!  Landon is doing wonderful - growing like a weed!  He has his 2 month check up next Tuesday, where he'll receive his first round of immunizations and we'll find out his new weight and height. Tanner and I weighed him at home yesterday and he is about 15 lbs at only 9 weeks old! I also have started to give him solid foods already, since formula alone just wasn't cutting it for such a growing boy.  He loves pears and squash the best, but has yet to accept peas as a desirable taste (I can't say I blame him).  Landon also went on his first trip to Townsend, WI last weekend, where my family  has a cabin.  He loved playing with Grandma and Grandpa and going out to eat in Lakewood.  Soon enough he'll be flying around the woods on his dirt bike that Gramps already bought him - I can't say I'm looking forward to the bruises sure to come.

This past weekend Landon got to spend some time with his Aunties Heather and Jeanie for a few hours before his Grandma Jackie picked him up for a night at their place.  Tanner and I got a little vacation away to Milwaukee with my parents for dinner and a Robert Plant concert.  Although I missed him like crazy, I will admit it was excellent getting a break to unwind and have some fun with adults :)  Next weekend Landon will be with me on his first out of state trip to Minnesota, along with Grandma and his Auntie Ali, to visit his great grandparents for a long weekend.  Hopefully the 5 hour car ride goes okay!

I apologize about the quality of the (much anticipated) photos I'm posting, but they were from disposable cameras I had left around the house.  Unfortunately for me, my other baby (Lola of course) decided my camera would make for a good chew toy while I wasn't looking, so I am going to hopefully get a replacement today in order to stay on top of these updates.  Until then, I hope all is well with all of you reading this :)

Welcoming March and Landon turns 1 month

Hey guys!

So we have been fairly busy on our end, from spending time with family and watching Landon grow in his first month.  He's getting the hang of day vs. night, as well as sleeping for up to 5 hour stretches at night - thank god! :) No doctors appointments until mid-April for his 2 month checkup.

As far as Tanner and I, we spent the weekend with both of our families - it was nice to get out of the house! Saturday we helped volunteer at the John Rath Benefit with my side of the family.  A HUGE thank you to everyone who came out and supported John - your donations are much more appreciated than most of you know.  Not to mention it was a great time!

A Quick Update :)

Hey guys!

Just wanted to give a quick update on our Landon.  We had a two-week checkup for him this past Monday (21st).  Landon now weighs 9 lbs, 8 oz and is 22 inches long - he is growing like a weed!  Everything else looks great as far as development, and we'll be going back in April for his two month checkup, at which he will receive his immunizations.  

Landon is starting to get the hang of day vs. night, which has allotted me some much needed rest!  Other than the occasional fuss when he's hungry or in need of a diaper change, Landon has been a very content baby and we've enjoyed every moment with him :)  He even held his own bottle while feeding Monday night! It's amazing how strong he can be while still so new to this world.

I hope to get some more pictures on here before the week is up, but have been unable to with how busy our lives have been.  We greatly appreciate all the help and well wishes we've received from family and friends - from the gifts to the food, and all the visitors who have come to see Landon, we truly are blessed with the love and support surrounding us.  

We look forward to the experiences and memories that are sure to come with our little man - and hope everyone is doing as well as we are! Thanks again for your love :)  Talk to you soon!

Welcome to the world, Landon!

Hey everyone! :)

So, as promised, I have created this blog to keep our friends and family up to date on the life of our little Landon Scott Basler. I'll do my best to update regularly, but we all know that may be a challenge from time to time with the little guy keeping me on my toes! So bare with me - I hope you enjoy :)

Born Monday, February 7th, 2011 @ 7:06 pm

8 pounds, 12 ounces - 21 1/4 inches long

After 12 hours of labor from start to finish, our little Landon was born into this world.  He had tons of family waiting to meet him - the waiting rooms couldn't even contain them! ;)  Tanner and I were overwhelmed with a mixture of shock, joy, fear, relief, and everything else you can imagine when we first laid eyes on him.  So far he's been a calm, content little guy :)  Rarely does he cry, unless he gets cold or wants to eat, and he spends most of his time napping or taking the world in around him.  Even Lola has taken on a more motherly role - she gives him plenty of kisses and loves to take naps with him throughout the day :)
